New Anime-inspired cinematic
Warframe: 1999
/ THE LINE releases new Anime-inspired cinematic promoting Warframe: 1999 update
Taking inspiration from The Matrix and Ghost in the Shell, this semi-monochromatic spectacle weaves intense, theatrical visuals with a brooding soundtrack.
Our latest creation, a cinematic short for Warframe: 1999, Directed by Venla Linna, in her first commercial outing, the film offers a moody, introspective contrast to the more high-octane pieces we've done this year.
Linna crafts a haunting narrative of six Protoframes facing off against a Technocyte infestation, digging deep into the lore which fans will appreciate:
“I was really inspired by the wider Warframe universe, and above all, the dedication and love the Digital Extremes Team has for their characters. I really wanted to meet this love with an equal amount, so I spent hours watching videos about the stories in the game. Both the client and I really wanted to represent these characters as human beings, not just Warframes. They are individuals with histories and emotions facing a future of losing themselves to the infestation, forced to work together with people they don't necessarily trust.”

To build anticipation for the new release, we and DIGITAL EXTREMES treated fans to exclusive production ‘behind-the-scenes’ updates on social media ahead of the premiere.
In the coming weeks, we will also share never-seen-before concept art and animation breakdowns across social media. Follow the work on our social media on Instagram, X, TikTok, Youtube.
